We made the pilgrimage to spectate "The Event" at Rebecca Farm and it was well  worth the time and money. It was by far one of the most wonderful equine events I have ever seen!

This was the 9th year of this elite competition and the backdrop of the Flathead Valley was gorgeous. Rebecca Farm boasts a 640-acre complex with at least 5 world class arenas and 9 cross country courses that include 3 water complexes and 150 jumps. The facility is incredible and the Event is truly a world class equestrian triathlon, as the program states.

We watched some of the finest riders in the world compete, including Karen O'Conner and Philip Dutton, who duked it out on the cross country course and then again in the stadium jumping. The cross country courses were amazing and the spectator vantage points offered very close access to the horses as well as a great over-view of the happenings. You could feel the ground move as they thundered by and it was obvious that the horses were enjoying the cross country course as much as the riders were.

While Rebecca Farm is a private facility, they certainly know how to put on a show and the entire competition was a class act. Living in Montana, we don't often have the opportunity to experience something of this caliber. I would strongly recommend adding "The Event" to your calendar for 2011. They have a very comprehensive website www.RebeccaFarm.org
